In haar thuisland werkte Duha ruim tien jaar als IT\u2019er bij het ministerie van Toerisme, en daarna als docent wiskunde, natuurkunde en scheikunde op een middelbare school. <em>\u2018Ik ben dankbaar dat MxBlue me de kans geeft om mijn kennis en ervaring te benutten.<\/em>\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hoe was het om in Nederland een nieuw bestaan op te bouwen?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018De eerste jaren heel moeilijk. Binnen anderhalf jaar heb ik mijn examen Nederlands gehaald, maar een baan vinden is niet eenvoudig met een andere culturele achtergrond en weinig ervaring met de taal. Ik wilde graag in de praktijk oefenen, maar kende buitenshuis niemand om mee te praten. De IT-wereld is hier ook heel anders dan in Syri\u00eb: veel verder gevorderd.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MxBlue voelt als een tweede familie<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Waar kwam je voor het eerst in aanraking met Mendix?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018Ik heb hiervoor anderhalf jaar bij twee verschillende IT-bedrijven gewerkt. Daar hoorde ik over Mendix, dat ook in Nederland helemaal nieuw was. Binnen een jaar heb ik mijn Mendix Advanced-certificaat behaald. Ik heb ook veel gehad aan Motopp, dat hoogopgeleide statushouders opleidt tot gecertificeerde Mendix Makers en aan gerenommeerde bedrijven koppelt. Zo heb ik MxBlue gevonden, alweer twee jaar geleden. Ik ben ontzettend blij dat ze me de kans hebben gegeven om hier te komen werken.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hoe vind je het bij MxBlue?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018In het begin vond ik het heel spannend. Ik was de eerste hier die niet vloeiend Nederlands sprak en had moeite met het onthouden van alle namen. Gelukkig is iedereen bij MxBlue behulpzaam en open. Mijn cultuur wordt gerespecteerd, en mijn hoofddoek is hier geen probleem. Dat is fijn. Ik heb ook echt mijn best gedaan om me te mengen in het team en ik doe mee aan alle MxBlue-activiteiten. Inmiddels kent iedereen me, heb ik mezelf kunnen bewijzen en verder ontwikkeld. MxBlue voelt nu als een tweede familie.
